TRANSFER A DOMAIN NAME TO YOUR OWN GOOGLE DOMAINS ACCOUNT
Transfer a domain between Google Domains accountsIf you have a domain registered with Google Domains, you can transfer the domain between Google Domains accounts. This article provides instructions on how to perform this transfer.

- You need to wait 5 days after registration, or transfer from another registrar, before you can transfer to another Google account.
- You don’t have to purchase an additional year of registration to complete the transfer.
- You can keep the domain’s web, email, and if present, G Suite configuration.
- Sign in to Google Domains with the account that you'll transfer the domain to.
- Open the menu .
- Click Transfer.
- Enter the domain name you want to transfer, then click Continue.
- To transfer the domain, you need an authorization code.
- Select “I don't have an authorization code yet” to get an authorization code.
- If you don’t own the domain, work with the domain owner to sign in to Google Domains to get an authorization code.
- Click Log in and sign in to the account the domain is registered under.
- If you can’t access the account, follow these steps instead.
- Copy the authorization code and click Continue to the other account.
- To check that you copied the authorization code correctly, temporarily paste it into a text window.
- Sign back in with the account that you'll transfer the domain to.
- Select “I already have an authorization code.”
- Paste the authorization code and click Accept and continue.
- Select “I don't have an authorization code yet” to get an authorization code.
- If the domain was set up to renew registration automatically, select whether you want to continue auto-renew.
- Note: If you decide to auto-renew, you need to agree to automatic payments. You aren’t charged until the domain is ready for renewal. Renewal occurs on the original end-date of the domain’s registration.
- Choose whether to preserve the domain’s web, email, and if present, G Suite configuration or to reset all your domain configurations. If you choose to keep your settings, there's no service interruption on your webpages and email.
- Click Transfer.
- Enter or edit the contact information for the domain and click Continue.
- Confirm the changes via the confirmation emails if required.
- Within a few minutes, the domain you transferred appears on your My domains list.
